NOTICE: Due to an unfortunate incident of art theft, from this point forward, I will require permission for any of my artwork to be displayed on other websites and blogs. Once you've obtained permission, you will be required to state explicitly that the work is NOT yours and that it IS mine -- you will also be required to link back to my Deviantart page. If you have purchased a commission from me, I request that you do not display it for anything other than personal use. If any of these requirements are not fulfilled, rest assured, I will pursue action and prosecute to the full extent of the law. This person is an unrepentant art thief:

You can also find tmpfan at MediaMiner.org:
[link]She recently posted a video at the yahoo group Demonlordlover2 that included a number of drawings that were not her own. She did not credit them and when the video was taken down she attempted to justify herself by positing a number of ridiculous legal arguments. ARTISTS BEWARE! This person has NO shame whatsoever. She believes it is her right to take your hard work and claim it as her own.
Below is a quote from Tmpfan. She includes snippets of a rather reasonable comment by another user. This is what she actually believes:
"Well, I was only using that to make a point with, I think you need to
research it has well because your well over dramatic statements.
Please cite some examples of being not only losing their proverty but
their freedom because of some small fanfiction? The closest I have
heard of was some guy that had put his real life girlfriend into the
story, and was written in a threating way. I don't even think nothing
happen to him.
What is public domain:
[link]
Definition: A public domain work is a creative work that is not
protected by copyright and
which may be freely used by everyone. The reasons that the work is
not protected include:
(1) the term of copyright for the work has expired; (2) the author
failed to satisfy statutory
formalities to perfect the copyright or (3) the work is a work of the
U.S. Government.
Life + 70 years1(or if work of corporate authorship, the shorter of
95 years from publication, or 120 years from creation2
>
> While your perspective is understood, your research is just a bit
too limited. Yes, as the individual you mentioned states, using
Shakespeare and the like is not a problem. Those stories were
written so long ago, and no one can truly copyright them.
>
> However, most literature and art work of today, does not even come
close to being that freely available and open. Yes, fanfiction,
fanart, fanvideos are freely posted on the Internet and shared
around, however, the vast majority of them, who do not want to have
legalities on the doorstep post disclaimers with the work that they
are sharing.
I hate to burst your bubble but a disclaimer will not and does not
protect anyone, has I had said in my earlier post. If it did anyone
could copy and make money off anything, if they just use a
disclaimer, but it does not provide any real protection.
>If you have/had/make your own website, and choose to post up your
own creations without disclaimers that is your choice. Should
someone report that you are doing so, the only one who would be
affected is you.
I went to your own website I didn't see a disclaimer, and your
website is and every fansite is in danger, none is protected.
>
> On the other hand, when posting your work using the character
creations of published and copyrighted authors, it is a completely
different story. Should someone report that you are not posting a
disclaimer with the work that you are sharing, not only are you held
accountable, but so is the site that 'let' you post it. Copyright
protection is a VERY harshly and strictly governed thing. Some
authors will not allow ANY use of any of their material by fans for
ANY reason whatsoever.
They have to prove that the other work had cost the creator any lost
of wages. If the fan-creation was non for profit, it goes along way,
the real trouble comes in when people start to make money off of it.
The first step is most cases is a simple cease order, that frights
enough people to take down whatever.
>
> A perfect example of this is Anne Rice. She has not merely
copyrighted her work. Every aspect of her work is so heavily
protected by legalities, by her own choice, that if you even used one
of her characters in any story, fanart, or video, she has legal right
to take you to court, sue you for everything you have, and having
imprisoned for theft of her material. She is one of those authors,
whose work NO ONE is allowed to use for any reason with SPECIFICALLY
obtaining her personal consent in writing. Check FanFiction.net,
MM.org, and AFF.net guidelines, or ask their mod's and they will all
tell you that any effort to use anything about her works will be
immediately pulled from their sites, and if you attempt to put it
back up, they will delete your account, and if they so choose, block
you from ever being able to access their sites again. I have seen
this done.
I am sorry, but I think you have just went to far with the power of
copyrights. The burden is on her, she would have to prove, first a
lost of wages from the work. Copyright was only invented to give
writers a wage for their work, but Fair-Use is to benefit society has
whole. There are lines to protect the creator and the public, it is
up to the courts to decide where they are. Please, cite some cases of
your Anne Rice examples.
>
> Disclaimers are there for a reason. No one likes having their
material taken used, and then posted as though it belonged to someone
else. Think about it. If you worked long and hard to create,
published your work and receive income that is important to you from
that effort, would you want to later find out that someone had seen
your work, taken it, added their own changes, and the are spreading
it around as though it was their personal work and not yours. Would
you really be ok with that, especially if it in anyway cuts into your
income, or worse yet, they come back later, state that it was their
work first, and that you are stealing their work.
What about the greater good? Without Thomas Paine's Common Sense
would there even be an America? Really think about it for a second,
what kind of society are we living in? Whatever happen to the greater
good of society? People are so freaking selfish, it is all about
making money, we are only consumers anymore. Most of the problems we
are having is from that. Get a job, make lots of money, buy that big
house where you only use to sleep in. Yeah, forget about emotions,
respect, goodness, honor, and being a real person that is truly a
live. Most people are so cut off from themselves they have to pop
pills just to keep their real emotions from coming up, but still
there is nothing wrong here. Is anyone really happy anymore, when was
the last time you felt connected to people? It was not always like
this, people at one time could share their works of art and still
have what they needed to live. It wasn't a big deal if other people
shared it because it made the community a bit more pleasanter to live
in.
> This may seem far fetched to you, but the truth is that stuff like
this happens all of the time. So again, keep in mind that there are
many reasons for copyright. You do not have to like them, but you do
have to follow them when publicly displaying work that is based off
of the creations of published creators.
Way do you say something like that about me? It is not far-fatched at
all, I just happened to totally disagree with it is all. There is a
lot I don't like, why should I follow them, because of fear? People
are so afraid anymore, whatever happened to standing up for what is
right instead of what is legal?"Well, Tmpfan -- you talk about what is right. What is RIGHT is giving an artist their due. What is RIGHT is respecting an artist enough to credit them.
Spread the word, friends. This so called "fan" is not to be trusted.

Biorust -- I honestly don't remember which sets I took specifically because I downloaded a bunch of them. Nevertheless, they are the product of their creator's hard work. So please, be supportive and join up!
I've also recently downloaded some brushes from some fellow deviants. Please, be so kind as to check them out!!
