NOTICE: Due to an unfortunate incident of art theft, from this point forward, I will require permission for any of my artwork to be displayed on other websites and blogs. Once you've obtained permission, you will be required to state explicitly that the work is NOT yours and that it IS mine -- you will also be required to link back to my Deviantart page. If you have purchased a commission from me, I request that you do not display it for anything other than personal use. If any of these requirements are not fulfilled, rest assured, I will pursue action and prosecute to the full extent of the law.

Wow. I finally got around to finishing this. It took FOREVER. I'm hot, sweaty, tired and I have a crick in my neck.

Anyway. I hope you all like this...I might be permantently damaged because of it.

whoo, pain! It's so much better when you know the artist suffered. ;)

Seriously, though, the textures are lovely and she looks so elegant!

~drakonlily: alright, I'll say it. I missed your pretty boys.

~drakonlily to ~Sorda: Well, I may make you play your namesake, for the sake of her being your namesake.

Yeah. Working on something like that for six hours straight, no breaks, does that to you. I probably should have paced myself but I was on a roll.

The way I got the textures to work is kinda unique, but simple. I bought a bunch of fabric samples from my local fabric store and scanned them in. And through the magic of the computer, VIOLA!!

:D I scan fabric for textures, too! I did that on Rosuu and Miao Yin, and a little bit on Iris. My living room curtains used to be the best for that, since they were Chinese brocade patchwork--lots of designs to work with. :)

I meant to also mention that I love her hair ornament. It looks like it sparkles.

The hair ornament is sort of an homage to Amano's work.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of the fabric trick.

That is gorgeous~ The dress is absolutely beautiful. I like the thing in her hair too.

'Smarmy' is a stupid, stupid looking word.

Very pretty! I like the pattern on her dress, and I REALLY love her hair ornaments!

I use Photoshop.

I got the color to fade by selecting the area I wanted effected with the lasso tool and then I used the gradient tool to fill the area in and erased what was unneccessary. It turned out really well, all things considered.
